Unlocking community-led energy transitions: register now to the ePLANET 9th Stakeholder Forum

Energy Communities (EC) play a pivotal role in the Energy Transition, serving as catalysts for decarbonization investments and promoting citizen ownership. As the European Union aligns legislative frameworks to support these initiatives, challenges persist for individuals venturing into ECs. Barriers such as limited awareness, information, expertise, and legal and financial guidance hinder progress. Addressing these issues, the 9th Stakeholder Forum on community-led energy transitions, hosted by the ePLANET project on 24 January 2024, 10:00-12:00 pm CET, aims to explore the importance of EC models.

The forum will kick off with ePLANET partners presenting insights from pilot regions, sharing experiences on how energy transition actions can drive sustainable community development, establish energy communities for PV installations, and create successful energy community models. In the latter part, the discussion will shift towards potential solutions and tools. Two projects supported by ICLEI will share their expertise – Benedetta Buccolini, Expert for Justice, Equity and Democracy from the EC2 project will shed light on fostering energy citizenship, raising awareness, and empowering citizens. Jurijs Grizāns, Senior Expert for Sustainable Energy Systems, will delve into the Sun4All innovative financing scheme, designed to include vulnerable households in a just energy transition.
