Open Call for Applications – Become a member of the Sun4All Community of Practice!

The Sun4All project, which rolls out innovative and inclusive solutions to both the climate crisis and rising energy poverty in Europe, has opened a Call for Applications for its Community of Practice.

To ensure that Sun4All has a long-term impact across countries in Europe, the Sun4All project team and especially the piloting cities and region are aiming at building alliances in order to work together towards energy poverty alleviation and a fair energy transition – leaving no one behind!

For this purpose, the project consortium is looking for highly motivated public authorities and public utilities/ utility companies interested in tackling energy poverty and empowering vulnerable consumers at the local level.

Public authorities and utilities can now apply to be one of the 10 chosen municipalities
to replicate the Sun4All approach, contributing to the project’s long-term impact across various countries.

Sun4All Engagement Programme - support for the Community of Practice-members:
Thanks to the Sun4All Engagement Programme, members of the Sun4All Community of Practice will have the opportunity to:

  • Accompany the pilots' implementation process and learn from first-hand experience.
  • Participate at study visits to at least one of the implementing cities and regions (Barcelona, Rome, Coeur de Savoie and Almada).
  • Join exchange sessions with pilot cities to hear about lessons learned and experiences related to the model implementation.
  • Develop an organised social dialogue with the communities and potential beneficiaries.
  • Bring forward their own specific energy poverty eradication plan(s) and local business model.

Sun4All project partners will accompany the Community of Practice and help prepare the programme adoption in each of the municipalities. Five technical partners will each mentor two of the members of the Community of Practice to ensure mutual and consistent knowledge exchange and to help them advance in their planning process towards implementation.

To limit the financial burden and to support future members of the Community of Practice in an unbureaucratic way, the Sun4All Consortium has up to 8,000 EUR at its disposal, for each of them. These financial means are available to provide need-based support to members of the Community of Practice, and to compensate for upcoming travel expenses.

More details on the application and evaluation process:
Any local public authority or public utility established in a European Union member state or an associated country can apply. To apply, interested parties can fill out this form.

The Call for Applications is open and the application process has started, i.e. incoming applications will be reviewed and evaluated on a rolling basis to build the Community of Practice. Evaluation and selection processes will come to an end as soon as 10 members of the Community of Practice are found. In February 2023 at the latest, all applicants will be informed about the outcomes of the Open Call.

The Sun4All Consortium is looking forward to starting to work with other municipalities and utilities in order to support more and more vulnerable households through solar installations.
